The value of AGI will not be measured only by parameter counts or test scores. It will be measured through better science, safer infrastructure, wider access to expertise and the freedom people retain to shape their own lives. The same capabilities could concentrate power or distribute it, accelerate discovery or amplify error. Outcomes depend on design choices made before systems become deeply embedded.

History offers a useful warning: transformative technologies rarely follow a straight line. Writing, printing, electricity, aviation and the internet each changed civilization through combinations of invention, institutions and public adoption. AGI may compress that process.
